May Monthly Favourites

My favourites aren't in any particular order of preference, it's just things and products and whatever else I've been enjoying for this month and I want to share it, maybe you will end up liking it too, maybe you already do or maybe you hate it.....either way I hope you enjoy the post. If you all like this monthly favourites post, I could do more and might add some more categories like food or other stuff.

Beauty

1) Aloe Vera Gel 99% Pure

I am loving using this on my hands, I have dermatitis on my hands and I would say this has been the most helpful product I have tried for my hands and it's dryness. I also put a thick cream hand moisturiser over the aloe vera and my hands have been much better!! I got this particular aloe vera from Chemist Warehouse. It does have a natural preservative that I don't like, the grapefruit one, but I didn't realise this when I bought I but I mean 99% of it is pure so that's still pretty good :)

2) Madre Labs Hands Cream with Argan Nut Oil

This is a nice thick hand cream that has no added scent, which I like, but it does have a smell (the ingredients) that isn't strong or too noticeable. I really , really like this a lot and I love using it over the top of my aloe vera gel on my hands before bed time. I like that it's thick, I find it hard to find good thick hand creams and this one is great for dry hands and doesn't have any overpowering scent added. I just wish it was a little bigger in size and the amount of product you get.

3) Trilogy Rose Hip Antioxidant Oil

I use rose hip oil all the time, but before this month I wasn't that consistent with it for a little while, but I've been using it more again and I just really like it. It adds a nice amount of moisture to my skin, I put a tiny bit underneath my eyes too. I feel like I am doing my skin a favour by using this and oils in generals, just because I feel like my skin will age better because of all the benefits rose hip oil and oils in general have. When I use this and other oils I don't have to use as much moisturiser which I like.

4) Acure Organics, Sensitive Facial Cleanser  Argan Oil & Probiotic

I only go this cleanser this month, it was in my iherb haul here.  So far I am happy with it, I think this is a better choice for my skin over the moogoo milk wash just because it is a cream cleanser and it helps with hydrating my skin more than the milk wash did. It's still a very new love so I will have to see how my skin is with it further down the track with more and more use, but so far I feel like it was a very good decision to buy and I am enjoying using it :)

Note: I had more products that were on the verge of being favourites, but being as they aren't yet I didn't put them in. So next month there will probably be more beauty favourites if monthly favourites are something you want to see on this blog :)

TV Shows

1) Elementary

This show is so witty and smart, the humour is so dry which is probably my favourite kind of humour. Johnny Lee Miller plays the Sherlock Holmes character amazingly, he is so wonderful in this as is Lucy Liu. I think every time something is being remade or revamped everyone kinda is more sceptical but I think this show has really reconstructed the whole Sherlock Holmes genre but kept the essence of Sherlock Holmes the character but flipped everything else. I just love it, I really recommend it !!!

2) The Americans

I was very curious about this show, and I was excited that it was coming to free to air t.v. This show is a little intense, it has a good story line. I love spy movies and t.v show but this seems a little more raw, a little darker, this show feels like it's very different from normal spy shows since it is focusing on Russian spies planted in America. It's just very interesting so far, I'm looking forward to see where they will go with it. I've only watched one episode but I am looking forward to watch more.

Music

1) Robin Thicke- Blurred Lines

2) McFly- Above the Noise Album (In particular Party Girl, iF U C Kate, End of the World and That's the Truth)

3) Demi Lovato ft Cher Lloyd- I Really Don't Care

4) Of Mice & Men- O.G Loko

5) Mya- Fallen, Case of the Ex, My love is like...Wo

6) Paramore- Still Into You

7) Cher Lloyd- Dub On the Track

8) The Androids- Do it with Madonna

9) My Chemical Romance- Teenagers

10) Of Mice & Men- Second & Sebring  (one of my all time favourite songs!!)

DVD's

1) Pitch Perfect
I saw this on the last day of May and I had to add it it to my favourites because it has been added to my all time favourites movie list. I loved it so much!! I laughed so much and it was just so, so, so great!!! Everyone was so funny, specifically Rebel Wilson who I love.

2) Katy Perry: Part of Me Movie
I've always really liked Katy Perry and her music, to be honest I think she is the best pop singer cause even though she rights fun catchy songs, she also writes songs with substance and that aren't as "superficial" as some songs around these days. Anyway after watching this movie I loved her even more, in the movie you get to see her as a real person and how she "made it". We are usually use to seeing celebrities in this  altered sense of reality (talk shows, red carpets, interviews etc) where they are in a setting that is much foreign and strange to us and it can feel very fake. So I liked that in the movie you saw behind that.

3) Reba season 1
I remember watching this when I would be home sick from school when I was younger but I didn't remember too much about it. I had a strong feeling that I really liked it so I got it and I loved watching it. It was so funny and actually everyone in my family loves it too.

4) Just Shoot Me season 3
I love this show so much, I laugh every time I watch it even though I do remember some of the episodes I still enjoy them as much as the first time. Very simply put, it's just a great, funny show.

5) My Wife & kids season 2
One of my many favourite tv shows growing up, I am a big fan of the whole Wayans family. I am so happy I got this on dvd I never get sick of it. You cannot watch any episode without laughing out loud, it's impossible!!

6) Seeking a Friend for the End of the Universe
This was a more unusual kind of movie, I would say it wasn't very predictable it was different and I really enjoyed it. I mean Steve Carell is just so funny and he and keira knightley were great in the movie. It's funny, it's sweet and it is definitely something  different in terms of what you see in movies.

7) Jeff, Who Lives At Home
Best way to describe this movie; a heart warming movie. This I enjoyed more than what I thought, it was a really nice movie that had a message in it and had a meaning that I appreciated. Jeff is a really wonderful character, he is sweet. Fate and a higher power are definitely apart of the movie, it's just goes in a direction different and better than where I thought it was going. Really enjoyed it.

8) Dawson's Creek Season 1
I use to watch this when it was on tv and I was alot younger, I decided to get the first season on dvd to see if I still liked it. Some things that I liked when I was younger you don't tend to like when your older, for me that is more rare but I was happy that I still really loved Dawson's creek and it was like watching it for the first time because I don't remember much of it.

Youtuber/ Youtube Videos

I will do a separate blog about all my favourite youtubers, but for now this is who I have been watching the most this month.

2) Pixiwoo

8) RhaeaEstelle

9) iluvjesse444

Note: This list isn't in any kind of preference order, just in order of who I could remember first.

Websites and/ or Blogs

1) Amazon
I love, love, love Amazon and I love tv shows and movies so much, and being in Australia we miss out on so much shows coming to dvd that it has always really annoyed me. I think we are passed the days where we need region coding, with the Internet and people getting whatever show they want from there. Region coding restricting where dvds can only be played and sold in certain countries seems redundant. I am not one of those people that downloads movies or streams movies illegally because I have too much love for the tv and film industry so that is why I buy mine from amazon. My new FAVOURITE website :)

Miscellaneous

1) Fifi & Jules Podcast

I am  loving Sophie Monk being apart of the show, even though I miss Fifi, I think Sophie was the best temporary replacement and I actually like her so much more since she has been on the radio-super funny!

My Monthly favourites might be a bit long so if there are too many random bit or categories that aren't interesting please comment below. Let me know though if monthly favourites are something you would like to continue on my blog or if I should skip it.

Moogoo Full Cream Moisturiser Review

Note: I've noticed on the Moogoo website that the packaging has changed, it is now a pump bottle (better in my opinion) and the price has dropped to $18.50 and it's now 270g in size, all these changes are improvements but the pictures and review is on the one I own which is the older packaging. There has been an ingredient changed instead of the Apple Cider Vinegar, it has now been replaced with Pyrus Communis (Pear) Extract, all other ingredients are the same.

Ok now on with my review of the moisturiser :)

My Thoughts & Experience with the product

This is one of my favourite moisturisers ever for my face and body. I have used it for about a year and a half and even though at first I thought it was a bit too pricey I have realised it does last a good while and it does spread nicely and is very much worth it.  I have very dry and flakey skin and this is one of the only moisturisers that if I use it everyday it will help the dry skin on my face. I use it for night and  day and I like it for both. Keeps the skin moisturised for a good amount of time. It is easy to apply too much (to the face) so be careful not to OD on it and when applying make-up over it let the moisturiser sink in the skin really, really well before hand. I really do like it I think it is great for all dry skin types, it doesn't have that yuck feeling of normal heavy chemical filled moisturisers that greasy Vaseline feeling. It's good for the skin and can be used on face, body and hands I think it's a smart buy. There isn't much more to say other than it is a great product and I highly doubt anyone one would regret purchasing it!

Moogoo Full Cream Natural Moisturiser (Old Packaging)

Price: I think I bought it for $22 (ish)

Amount: 250g

What I like to use it for: Face and body moisturiser

My Skin Type Recommendation: Dry and sensitive skins, too heavy for oily skin

Consistency: Nice creamy and smooth texture

Smell: Really nice, kind of milky and sweet, a bit hard to explain but it is a nice, NON offensive smell.

My tips: As well as this moisturiser, I like to use oils too for extra moisture e.g. for my face I will use rose hip oil and for my skin I will use coconut oil underneath or mixed with the moisturiser to 1: be even more moisturising and 2: not have to use as much of the moisturiser.

Ingredient list for the Moogoo Full Cream Moisturiser

Problems/ Issues/ Negative Comments: Packaging I bought the jar (because that was all that was available) but I think they have changed it now to a pump which is better (more hygienic). On the face, at times it can, if you use too much it can have a bit of an oily feeling, when I say that it might scare people but I think it's just because at times my skin gets so dry I apply too much to try and combat that, but it is a great moisturiser and a tissue to soak up extra oils can be used to solve this issue anyway.

Irritations? No, Never had any kind of rash or discomfort when using the moisturiser.

Bottom Line: If you have dry, sensitive skin this will be a great choice 100% for your body and good for a night time moisturiser. Especially if you are a constant sufferer of dry/ flakey skin this will definitely help. Anyone who has issues with overpowering fragrance (like myself) I think this is a good choice. Good ingredients and good results I think it is worth the money and is a gem to have apart of any skincare routine.

I am a Lip Balm Addict: My Collection

Lip balms are something that I basically hoard, I love lip balms, I need them because my lips get so dry, I go through them quickly because of this. I only buy natural or organic lip balms now, I don't go near nivea, maybelline, blistex, carmex etc anymore  after seeing that all these lip balms  have chemicals, synthetic preservatives, petroleum etc I just swore them off because in my opinion they seemed more harmful then helpful.
Plus we are always getting lip products in our mouth, so for me I do not want those chemicals in my body. I think the easiest beauty product to switch to natural is lip balms as they are available at pharmacies (though of course more expensive then overseas, but I do get most of my lip balms from overseas because it is cheaper and they have a wider range.

What I look for in a lip balm; what I have noticed works best for my lips are creamy and/ or thick texture lip balms. Lip balms that are oily or greasy don't  work for me, they tend to sit on top of my dry lips and what I feel is an oily residue over chapped/ dry lips (hopefully that made sense) and my lips just still feel dry, like it isn't penetrating the skin layers.

Not Pictured: EOS lip balms Honeydew honeysuckle and summer fruits, Burt's Bees Mango Butter (HATE the smell) and Acai Berry as I could not find them.

NOTE: I have not yet used all of these so there are some that are unopened.

My Favourites so far:

#8: Organic Essence Organic Lip Balm Vanilla 6g USDA ORGANIC

Unfortunately is has been discontinued from iherb.com, this is my favourite and I love it so much luckily I have a few spare. If you can get your hands on this go for it!! It's thick and creamy, smells like soft natural vanilla and eco friendly packaging, seriously i love this lip balm so much and I am very picky.

#32:Dr. Bronner’s Magic Organic Lip Balm “Peppermint” 4g USDA ORGANIC

Another favourite, really creamy, hydrates beautifully, love the peppermint and didn't burn, tingles a bit. Other flavours are available Lemon- Lime, Naked and Orange-Ginger (I haven't tried any of these though).

#22: Burt's Bee's Tinted Lip Balm "Honeysuckle" 4.25g
Love, love, love the colour and natural nude colour, subtle but enough to see the difference, really beautiful colour.

29: Hurraw! Night Treatment Balm “Blue Chamomile Vanilla” 4.3g

Smells so good, feels amazing on the lips, hydrating and just beautiful and creamy, cannot wait to try the rest on the Hurraw! balms that I have :)

33: Kuumba made Herbal Lip Balm “Almond” 4.25g
Not a massive fan of the almond, it's not bad just not my preference BUT so creamy, really nice lip balm my lips are so soft when I apply this, last a good amount of time too. Again I can't wait to try the rest :)

16: TheraNeem naturals Neem Stick Lip Therape' 4.2g USDA ORGANIC

Unbelievably cream....almost ridiculous how creamy it is. Works great, smells minty really great for winter.

9: Badger Vanilla bean Cocoa Butter Lip Balm 7g USDA ORGANIC

This is ridiculously moisturising, it's really a dry lip life saver. The size is so much better than a traditional sized lip balm and you don't need to apply too much. It smells like cocoa butter, not vanilla bean though.

1: Crazy Rumors A La Mode Banana Split Lip Balm 4.2g

This is super creamy and another lip transformer (like this whole list of favs). I don't think it smells like a banana split though, it's more like a strange caramel smell, which I'm not a big fan of so when I repurchase it will be in a different flavour! but still great lip balm, surprising actually!

All my favourites mentioned are amazing for dry, chapped, flakey lips!! All these lip balms will change your lips for the better!! Trust me :)

Once I have made sure to try them all I will do an update of what is worth a purchase and what isn't.
