Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream Review

Before I start the review just a bit of background on the my skin so you can take that into consideration :)

My skin type: Very sensitive, very dry, flaky, a bit dull, a lot of blocked pores and pimples.

I've been using this for many months on and off, I've almost finished the 30ml tube I have and I would say I have used it enough to do a review, so if you're interested in this moisturiser read on :)
Now on with the review!

If you are interested in this product check out the page for this moisturiser on the trilogy website link here

PRODUCT DETAILS

SIZE: So first off please note that this is sold in a 50ml tube with a pump or 60 gram jar, mine is a 30ml tube because I got this with a rosehip oil antioxidant +  pack at Chemist warehouse so mine is a squeeze tube not a pump.

Price:

50ml Tube with pump rrp: $39.95 (AUD)
60g jar rrp: $39.95 (AUD)

Texture:

To me it feels somewhere in between a lotion and a cream, because it isn't heavy like a cream but it isn't watery like a lotion, and it spreads well.

Ingredients

Aqua (water)Glycerin (vegetable),Sweet almond oilGlyceryl stearate,Evening primrose oilJojoba oilCetearyl wheat straw glycosides (and) cetearyl alcoholRosapene™Marula oilAloe vera leaf extractVitamin ECarrot oil,Chamomile flower extractBitter orange flower oilRosemary leaf extractSodium stearoyl glutamateCitric acidDehydroacetic acid (and) benzyl alcoholParfumCitralGeraniolCitronellolLimoneneLinalool

Concerning ingredients?

Not sure about the "Parfum" that doesn't sound natural to me but not sure. There are a few ingredients listed that I'm not very familiar with but nothing that sets off any alarm bells.

Pros:

1) Very easy to spread, the texture is light but moisturising.

2) A little goes a long way, so although the tube isn't massive it should last a while.

3) Not greasy and is easily absorbed. So no greasy looking skin.

4) I have sensitive skin and have not had any problems with this moisturiser aggravating my skin.

5) My skin does feel nicer and smoother when I use it, and the bumpiness on my cheeks don't feel as bad when I use this.

6) It has an expiry date, this might be strange for me to put on the list but having a expiry date is so important especially with natural and organic products because the shelf lives of those products are much lesser than your average product and it really frustrates me when brands don't put an expiry date. Nobody wants to be spreading bacteria and mould on their face!!!

7) Hasn't blocked (congested) my pores. I don't notice any kind of bumps from the cream blocking my pores which is something I have experienced before.

Cons:

1) Expensive, although a little goes a long way it still is pricey in my opinion.

2)  No sunscreen; which to some people is a massive con, for me I'm not fussed I actually prefer it without so that if I want SPF I can use my own, which I know is without nano-particles.

3) Will not help with flaky skin (or very dry skin), so if you lack a little hydration this cream will help but if your skin is very flaky it wont be enough.

4) I don't like the scent a little bit strong and  not my favourite kind of smell, I am so bad at describing smells but there is rose smell mixed some other smells and I am not a fan of it, it doesn't last too long though.

Summed Up (bottom line) :

Very good moisturiser, I would recommend it to normal skin and slightly dry skin; if you are suffering from very dry or extremely dry skin this moisturiser wont be enough. It may help a little but it wont preform miracles on it's own, so I would recommend a thicker cream moisturiser instead of this moisturiser. For me my skin gets very dry so usually I don't use this alone, I will put rosehip oil underneath  or put something extra (a different moisturiser) on in my worse areas. The skin on my nose is the driest for some reason and is always a little flaky so even with this I will see that I still have some flakiness so that's something to keep in mind if you have flaky skin.
In my opinion it is expensive but if you like the product enough then it will be worth it, for me if I were to buy this for $40 for 50ml I wouldn't find it worth it because my skin does need a bit more, if it was like $20 I would be more likely to go back but I don't feel it is worth it because it doesn't give me what my skin needs.

Would I repurchase it?

To be honest not sure, probably  not. Not because it was bad but I think I could find better, it's just not enough hydration for my skin.

I recommend this product for: Normal, slightly dry skin and I think combo skin might work with the moisturiser too. I think these skin types will like the moisturiser.

I hope this review has been helpful :)

Beauty Products I Am Using At The Moment (pre-reviews)

I'm thinking of making this a regular "series" on my blog and basically what it will be is me sharing some of the natural beauty products I am currently using, including make-up, hair care, skincare, etc and my feeling about them, they will not be full reviews or apart of the regret buying category but they will be just my impressions of the product thus far where I haven't used it enough to do a  full review and have a decisive opinion, but it will provide my experience using the product and it will give an idea to anyone who is interested in buying it, some of my thoughts on the product before the full review.

So this is like a pre-review to the actual reviews, which just shows the direction of where my thoughts and opinions on the products are going.  I hope this will be helpful until actual reviews on these products come :)

1) A'kin hand, nail & cuticle treament 2) acure organics sensitive facial cream 3) triology vital moisturising cream 4) beauty without cruelty leave-in conditioner 5) Burt's bees ultimate care hand cream

1) A'kin Intensive unscented  hand, nail & cuticle treament hand cream

I didn't get this too long ago and I put it in a haul blog post here. I know that I like this but I don't think I love it and I did expect more from it as it claims to be intensive, so maybe for dry skin but for my extremely dry skin it just doesn't cut it on its own for me. I like that it is unscented, but yeah I'm not impressed and the normal price for this is way more than what it should be!!!

2) Acure Organics argan oil + probiotic sensitive facial cream

I got this in my May iherb haul here. Not too sure about this recently, sometimes I feel like it doesn't give enough moisture for my skin ,but I do love the texture of it. I don't know if it's maybe because this winter has been the most dry my skin has ever been, so maybe it's more for my dry skin in summer or spring? not too sure. I do like it, I just haven't decided how much I like it yet, I do wish they would have out more of the product in the tube, too be fair you don't need a lot at all, but still they were a bit stingy with the product.

3) Trilogy vital moisturising cream

I do like this actually a lot, but I think it has phenoxyethanol in it but I didn't know cause I bought it with the antioxidant+ rose hip oil and it was like a free gift, anyway it didn't have the ingredients list on it (which is annoying). I try not to use phenoxyethanol for the most part, I accept it more in hand creams only because my skin is very bad on my hands so I have to make exceptions. Aside from that ingredient the price on the full size is ridiculous, yes you don't have to use it a lot but still it wont last long, it seems too overpriced to me. For my dry skin so far it's pretty good not perfect though, I get better results when I use rosehip oil underneath it. Not sure about the smell, rosey weird smell.

4) BWC  leave- in conditioner

I've actually had this for a while and I just like to use it on damp hair before I dry it cause it is suppose to be a heat protectant but how do you really know if it's working? it smoothes my hair though and tames  frizz a little so I like to use it. Yeah again not to sure, I don't think it is amazing but it is easy to use but visible benefits are minimal so far.

5) Burt's Bees ulitimate care hand cream

I got this from a burt's bees grab bag haul here. This does say it's for extremely dry skin, which is what I have but I'm not convinced it is, I think for dry skin yes but extremely dry not too sure. Again I use this with other products because it isn't enough by itself. I've actually really used a lot of it which is strange considering I haven't had it for very long and it hasn't even been my primary hand cream. I've noticed that a lot of product comes out by accident but it still doesn't do enough even when I use a lot. I mean it's good but it terms of what it's use is for (extremely dry hands) then it just isn't enough and wont last very long either.

6) badger beauty balm 7) nourish nighttime moisturizer 8) Toothsoap in pepperwhip and peppermint gel 9) soapwalla deodorant cream

6) Badger Company damacus rose beauty balm

This is from my big iherb haul at the start of the year haul here. This was in one of my monthly favourites but I do have some mixed feelings because I have been using it on and off for months and months and I have not noticed any diminish in the appearance of my fine lines underneath my eyes which is very disappointing, so I don't know if it's just not working or maybe it needs more time or maybe I need to use it more often, not sure. As for moisturising it's pretty good.

7) Nourish Acai berry & seabuckthorn nighttime renewal face moisturizer

I've actually had this for a long while and I like but again not fully sure about, first thing I love is that it is usda organic and the texture is amazing it's like a moussey light texture, I'm not too sure how to explain it but it feels very luxurious. Anyway it terms of moisture it is good, maybe not as much as I need but close, though the smell isn't bad  it is very, very strong like it really hits you and it stays for a while.

8) Toothsoap (whip & gel)

These are in a few of my iherb hauls/orders because I get 1 or 2 almost every order  (haul here and here). There is no doubt in my mind about how much I love this product and how much I recommend it, I actually really want to try the liquid version of the toothsoap only difference is that it doesn't have coral calcium (which is in the whip version) and Himalayan crystal salt (in the whip and gel version), and I really want to try the liquid to compare and mix it up with the other kinds and just have variety. Seriously I can't wait to do a review on this but basically it will just be a complete rave post because it is amazing and I love it. Pricey yes but worth it, this is the only natural product that I have found that I can honestly say it  is a holy grail and I don't see myself changing brands ever.

9) Soapwalla deodorant

I've been using this since I got it in small haul from  floraorganica.com.au,  haul here. I have been using this for a while but I cannot yet do a review on it because I have some mixed feelings about it as well as I wanted to see how it holds up in summer. So far I would say it is the best natural  deodorant I have tried, it isn't perfect though. I get rashes and irritated underneath my arms if use it too many days in a row (which is a problem) I have to make sure I wash it off otherwise it is really bad for  my underarms. I have to make sure to moisturise my underarms with shea butter to soothe the area, I can go a few days with using it and be fine and then I will notice I feel a little irritated so yes I am undecided so far. I'm trying very hard to make it work cause it isn't a perfect deodorant but it is the best I've found ingredient wise and performance wise in the natural deodorant arena.

iherb haul #4

I know that I have a problem, I buy from iherb way too often and I need to stop so this one will best the last iherb haul for a while, since unfortunately the Australian dollar isn't doing very good so I had to pay quite a bit extra :( Anyhoo on with the haul :)

Some of the products I got from iherb :)

inspiredwellbeing.com haul

Last week I put my first order in to
www.inspiredwellbeing.com, I have been eyeing the website for a while because I have been curious to try couleur caramel which is suppose to be a natural cosmetic brand, to my standards I don't consider them completely natural- I consider them to be a less toxic brand then other brands such as Revlon or L'oreal, so they are absolutely more natural than those kinds of brands but not the best- that's for sure.

So couleur caramel is very expensive here but on the inspierdwellbeing.com website they are much, much cheaper so I ordered a few things to try out as well as a few skin and hair products.

A'kin Unscented Intensive Hand Nail & Cuticle Treatment 75ml x2  $10 each on special
Well I ordered 2 of these because that was the limit and I go through hand cream so fast and I loved that it was the intensive treatment and unscented, unfortunately I was only given 1 of this and then accidentally they put a different type of A'kin hand treatment in, a lavender one which isn't unscented or intensive. I emailed them about it and they have no more left and said that they cannot send it to me when they get it in for that price. So my options were to send it back, and it sounded like he expected me to pay for shipping and they would refund me the $10, so I would have to pay for their mistake and not even have much money left over from the $10 refund since I was expected to pay for shipping, no thank you, I've decided to keep it and even though I don't like lavender so I hope it's not too strong.

Alchemy Conditioner Macadamia & Wheat Protein Treatment 225ml $10
This was on special too so I wanted to try it, I was interested that the macadamia's were cold pressed and it sounded good. I still haven't found an amazing conditioner so I don't think it exists but maybe it's this?

Top Left: 80 Matt Cocoa  Top Right: 43 Pearly White  Bottom: Concealer sample in "light sandy beige"

Left to Right; 80 Matt Cocoa, 43 Pearly White and Light Sandy Beige Concealer

Couleur Caramel eyeshadow " 80 Matt Cocoa"  $5.95

A very warm toned brown, a bit of a purple- red undertone. Nicely pigmented but wouldn't have spent $6 had I known it contained talc, which is same with the pearly ivory and I assume their whole range of eyeshadows. In the picture the matt cocoa shows up more like a burnt orange but in person it isn't, it's more brown with some purple/red to it.

Couleur Caramel Eyeshadow  Sample "43 Pearly Ivory " $2.95
Well I assumed that the sample size would be smaller than the non-sample size but it is not,  I emailed inspiredwellbeing to ask what the difference is and why I paid double for the exact same size? They said the sample and non-sample are the same size but the packaging is different- now maybe I was given the wrong thing but the package to the pearly ivory and matt cocoa are exactly the same, so I might have paid double for no reason or there was a mistake- not sure. I decided not to email back cause to be honest I find it unlikely that I will buy these eyeshadows again since they are claimed to be "natural" by Couleur Caramel  but contain talc which I didn't know when I bought them.
The colour is a very shimmery off white colour- maybe a pale cream colour, very pretty highlight colour.

Couleur Caramel Concealer Sample "light sandy beige" $4.50
Very yellow toned- which I am not. I might have to add this to my August blog sale. The texture feels ok maybe leaning towards the dry side, not too sure about this.

Top: Eyebrow pencil in blonde      Middle: Beige    Bottom: Chocolate Brown

Sorry about the crappy picture!!!!! from left to right; Beige, Chocolate brown and eyebrow pencil in blonde. Note that the chocolate brown colour in the picture isn't as burnt orange looking.

Couleur Caramel eyebrow pencil $6.95 Blonde 12122
Nice colour, very hard though like the eyeliners, a more neutral-ish cooler toned brow pencil finally since they always seem to be so warm which doesn't suit me. Not sure how this will go though, I might do a review.

Couleur caramel eye & Lip Pencil $5.60 in "12111 Beige"  and " 12110 Chocolate Brown
I don't know in what world the "beige" colour would be actually considered as a beige cause to me it looks like a light-medium brown, and looks nothing like the picture on the couleur caramel website so that was very disappointing. The chocolate brown colour has a very warm undertone which I expected but it's very red undertone which I wasn't crazy about. These are very hard though, I don't know if I can use them for my eye because they are very hard and I'm afraid I will hurt myself so to be honest I regret buying them- very disappointing.

Natralia Nourish NatureColour in Almond Blonde 8N + Shampoo

Natralia Nourish NatureColour Almond Blonde 8N + shampoo $16.95
So I think this brand is discontinued, well at least it was from Priceline according to a lady there.  I saw the colour and thought it was really nice, I've never tried a more natural  hair colour brand. I have a rule not to go blonde at home, I usually go to the hairdressers but I decided to break my own rule and hope that I don't regret it. This could be a very big mistake but I hope it turns out good, I will probably colour my hair in September so after winter, I love that it has an expiry date so that's great.

I might sell the shampoo in my August blog sale because it says it's for golden highlights and I prefer purple shampoos to tone down brassiness.

All in all I am not very happy with this haul, I am disappointed with many things in it, so far I don't really recommend couleur caramel but I will give it a proper go and see, but yeah overpriced in Australia, I can't believe it is so cheap on this website compared to the recommend retail price so if you are interested check out there website.

A Rant About Beauty Advertisements

So this is going to be a rant to express my frustration with beauty companies, this actually has nothing to do with whether a product is natural or unnatural but the ridiculous FALSE advertising companies use to display and sell their products to consumers.

I am at  the point where I don't even want to buy any kind of beauty product that is being falsely advertised, when I say falsely advertised I mean the ridiculous commercials of beauty brands exaggerating there product not only verbally but more annoyingly visually. I actually get upset when I see those ridiculous mascara commercial where everyone can clearly see that the lashes have been digitally altered or should I say "dramatisation" has been used, as the the companies like to call it. They clearly are fake, they look like they came from a cartoon character, so what I don't understand is I'm sure no one is naive enough to believe that they are the real effects from the mascara, I'm sure that cat is out of the bag so why do beauty companies in general still feel the need to digitally alter advertisements? That show me that they do not believe in the actual products capabilities and that's why they have to do that, which is crazy and so frustrating to me because I feel as though that is false advertising, I know they have there little disclaimer in small writing at the bottom of the page or screen but I don't care, it is still false advertising in my eyes.

Beauty companies in general kind of get a free pass to claim and say whatever they want, whether it's the digital altering of videos and images, claims of their products doing all these amazing things or even calling themselves natural when they're not.

This is definitely not just mascara ads, although I think they are probably the worst culprits, but hair product adds, skincare, all make-up product ads are all so airbrushed and fake to the point where they don't look like real people, almost like gorgeous barbie dolls. The tricks that these beauty companies use to sell their products, I find sneaky and dishonest,  there is a new skincare commercial with a famous celebrity endorsing the product (surprise, surprise ), I don't know what they have done whether it is lighting tricks or if the commercial has been digitally altered but they have erased most of this woman's wrinkles and imperfections- not even imperfections just the way skin looks, this woman is gorgeous and really doesn't need it so what does that say?

I think these companies are setting up not only false hope for their products but also a beauty that cannot be achieved in the real world. I'm not saying that they should display everyone's flaws or not put make-up on the models/ celebrities in the commercials or not have their little lighting tricks or whatever but I still want these women to look real- not like dolls which are beautiful but are just setting up a false reality for young girls who are actually trying to live up to it or think that it's real when it's not.

I don't know maybe I am just being too sensitive but I am just absolutely sick of ads which are just so blatantly obvious about how fake they are (cough cough MASCARA ADS!!!!!) Or just all beauty ads being so over dramatised and just ridiculous to the point where I just feel like we are being manipulated into buying these products that give barely anything of what they have promised let alone what they have shown in their advertisements.

I know this was very ranty post and I guess a pointless post but I just felt like vocalising my opinions as this topic really gets to me, let me know what you think, do you agree? Am I being to sensitive and this is just the way of the beauty world? Do you think it is right?

Burt's Bees Winter Grab Bag Haul/ First Impressions

So first thing I have to say is in my opinion Burt's Bees does not have a perfect ingredients list (phenoxyethanol being one that springs to mind), usually I would buy a different brand with "cleaner" ingredients but I did decide to buy this because I was kind of curious with what was in it and I was really happy with the price. The usual prices of Burt's Bees products in all honesty is ridiculously expensive, I think the prices they charge for ALL there products are absolutely a rip off, I would hate to see the price of there products if there were completely organic.

Anyway so I was in a bit of a sad mood on Friday when I saw I got an email from Burt's Bees, I don't always look at the emails I've signed up to cause they have this exciting title then I open the email and it is underwhelming. Anyway I opened the email saw the price $39.95 for 7 products that would usually are valued at $126.95, usually when I see these kind of "goody bags" from companies the contents really let me down but this time the content wasn't like amazingly exciting or anything but I think it was good and there were some things I needed or would like to try.
So with me being in a bit of a crummy mood then seeing such a  good saving which appealed to my shopaholic and bargain buying tendencies- I caved and bought it. To be honest I don't know if I would have gotten that email another day if I would have bought it, hmmm maybe I would have actually, don't know anyway I did buy it.

Of course I had to pay for shipping which was $6.90, shipping prices in Australia really confuse me because they are so expensive here, it's ridiculous- but anyway I thought it could have been worse. Free shipping is available if you spend over $75 so I had a quick look at the products on there and prices were just too much  that it wasn't worth it for me.

On the email they sent to me it says shipping will take 3-12 business days but I could have sworn it said 2-3 when I had just finished putting the order in, I could be wrong though. I got it Wednesday July 3rd and ordered it Friday June 28th.

The email did say that limited  Grab Bags are available which is another ploy to get people to hurry up and buy which I did lol. Something I love about Burt's bees is that they tell you how much of each product is natural which I appreciate.

June Monthly Favourites 2013

Firstly I would like to apologise for the lack of photos, my camera was not turning on so hopefully it has just ran out of battery naturally without me knowing and it isn't anything else.

BEAUTY

Badger Company, Beauty Balm, Damascus Rose

I could have done without the scent to be honest, but I do like using this underneath my eyes to moisture that area since I get so dry there. I got it specifically for its line diminishing promises and I've been using it for a while on and off and I haven't seen that yet but I do like the way it hydrates underneath my eyes.
Scent is a bit strong though, I feel it is unnecessary. Anyway it does help to moisturise underneath my eyes, most of the time I will use a tiny amount of oil then this over it- that's just me though, it's not needed.

This would not be suitable under make-up, I use it when I have no make-up on and at night time. I do hope I start to see that it starts working to reduce those fine lines underneath my eyes but I still like it for moisturising, and you don't need a lot either. You get a pretty good amount of product so it should last me a while, if I were to try it on stretch marks (something it's suppose to help with) I don't think it would last very long so I just use it for dry areas on my face and under my eyes.

Melrose Unrefined Coconut Oil

I love coconut oil for basically everything I can use it for, I love using it for my skin (body and face), I like using it sometimes on my hair (only a little), I love using it on my underarms since I am extremely sensitive there coconut oil and shea butter help so much. I love cooking with it and I love just having it off a teaspoon for the healthy benefits I get; like it speeds up your metabolism so I have it before I got for walks, it's supposed to keep your gut healthy, it give you energy, good for your skin and just overall health. This is one of my all around favourite products for internally and externally I highly recommend it!! It has so many other benefits other than the ones I mentioned I suggest you google!!!

A suggestions: Only get unrefined; it is the most pure and has the most benefits. If you do decide to take it internally you should start with 1/2 a teaspoon and slowly increase it. Some coconut experts say the maximum you should have is 3 tablespoons so as long as you have no more than that a day overall I think is the best way to go. Even a teaspoon a day will give you benefits.

Another Suggestion: I get my Melrose unrefined coconut oil from Chemist warehouse because it is the cheapest there and sometimes it goes on special for $7 which is a really great deal compared to normal prices.

One With Nature, Vanilla Oatmeal Soap Bar

This soap was in my iherb haul here and I really, really like it. It doesn't have a very vanilla smell like I thought it would, the scent is very soft and hard to explain it's like a natural kind of mineral smell...I don't know, it's a very different kind of smell but it's very subtle. Anyway why I love this so much is it came in a nice 200g size which is a nice change, it gets rid of body odour and cleans the skin nicely. It is not drying, maybe a little moisturising? not too sure but I know it isn't harsh and oil stripping.

Kuumba Made Herbal Lip Balm "Shea Butter"

I forgot to add this yesterday but I love, love this lip balm! It is nice and creamy (which is what I look for in lip balms because they work best for me). I got this from iherb a little while ago in a four pack with the other flavours lime, almond and peppermint. I've used up the almond one a while ago and I loved that too, these lip balms just have a really good formula and they aren't expensive. I actually first got them because I was really curious about the ingredient list, it was very unusual from most lip balms so I was very interested in buying it and I am not disappointed. Great lip balms!!

As anyone who read my last months post on my monthly favourites, you would notice that I haven't included any make-up products and that's because I actually haven't been wearing make-up for a long while. Why? Well I've been really trying to focus on my skin, trying to get it to where I want it to be and I don't have much variety in natural make-up. Although my skin is far from where I want it to be, make-up products might be in the next monthly favourites. I don't have a lot of natural make-up since they are more expensive and the range isn't as broad as conventional make-up brands so the ingredients wont be perfect but I will start including more natural ingredients make-up brands in my blog.

TV SHOWS

Cougar Town

I think this was only on for 1 or 2 weeks  in June like Happy Endings and The Mindy Project, but it was a favourite I forgot to put in last month like the rest of these tv shows. Great funny show, it reminds me of the tv show Scrubs which makes sense since both shows  were created by the same guy, Bill Lawrence. It's a funny, heart warming, sweet show that I just love!!

House Rules

I didn't want to like this show to be honest, I have this thing against any kind of reality show, I don't like them for the most part. I think that they  are scripted in their own way whether it's producers trying to heighten situations or the way contestants react or feel. I hate the drama that all these shows like to hype up to be honest, it completely turns me off these shows or when the public gets to vote and the winner almost always seems to be the person they feel sorry for, not because they are the best but because they got the pity vote, which really angers me.

Anyway this is actually the first reality show that I like and have actually enjoyed watching, I think it's because I like the whole format of the show and the contestants aren't as annoying as most shows- they are actually mostly funny. I wanted Amy & Sean to win cause they were one of the sweetest couple I have ever seen on reality tv- they didn't though. Anyway it has finished and I will actually miss it, hopefully they get nice couples for next year!!

Happy Endings

FRIENDS 2.0? It gets compared to the friends tv show (my all time favourite show!!) quite a bit and it has it's similarities but to be honest it isn't that much like friends, yes it's about 6 friends and there adventures but I think it's a different kind of comedy which I love. It's a little more out there, the comedy is more dry (which I love) it's more silly and I just love it. My heart breaks that it has been cancelled only after 3 seasons, another show that hasn't been appreciated like it should be and then has been cancelled before it's time (cough cough VERONICA MARS). There was hope that another network in America would pick it up, but that now doesn't look likely :(

The Mindy Project

Love it!!! So funny, again more of a dry sarcastic comedy so, so, so good. Love it. I recommend it to anyone who likes comedy, it isn't like a "sitcom" kind of show it has a different beat to it but I think it's great and cannot wait for the dvd.

DVDs

Boy Meets World season 1,2,3,4,5

I don't think I can put into word how much I love and absolutely adore this tv show. My mum told me I use to watch it when I was little, I remembered the people just not the details but I just decided to get it on Amazon and that was a great decision!! I love it so much, in my opinion some of the best tv shows EVER came form the 90's. I strongly recommend this tv series, it is funny, emotional and relatable,  it is very close to perfection. I am just so sad that I only have season 6 and 7 left to watch. 100% one of my all time favourite shows EVER!!!!!

I love this game, I'm not a very good game player but I love playing video games and get very addicted to them so that's why I don't buy a lot cause I do get a little cra cra. I am a BIG fan of the old school classic games Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong, Zelda stuff like that and I am not a big fan of 3D games I prefer the old 2D platform games, plus I get super nauseous when I play 3D video games, all video games if I play for too long I get motion sickness. Anyway the actual game is so much fun, it reminds me of a very "old school"  Mario game, it's a lot of fun!! Plus it has a lot of levels, and if you suck on a level eventually it can do it for you and you can pass to the next level which is good if you aren't the best player or younger kids are playing it.

Vitacost Haul May 2013 / First Impressions

I decided to put a vitacost order because I haven't in a while and knew I wanted a few things and the Australian dollar wasn't looking great so I thought just in case the dollar got worse I should put an order in.
I decided to get the priority shipping, it was an extra $2 so $12 all up for postage. I chose Priority shipping since the least expensive had gone up to $10 which is annoying since the last time I purchased from them it was $4 or $6 so I wasn't too happy about that. Anyway I am off topic like usual, so I chose Priority over Global shipping because it said it would be here in 5-10 business days and Global $10 shipping said 8-20 business days, so I though I would pay an extra $2 and get it earlier since every time I've ordered from them and chose the least expensive option it would be here just on 2 weeks so I was expecting to get my package in like 5-7 days, well I didn't. It took 3 weeks, so next time I will just go with global shipping .

I go through soap pretty quickly and I like trying new natural soaps and when someone in the house needs it I've always got some, which is handy :)

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: I haven't used it yet but omg the smell is so, so good!!

This was so cheap that it was surprising, on special for $3, you get 3 bars of soap each 113g which I thought was a bargain :) If the shipping wouldn't have gotten more expensive I would have bought more.

I got 2 of these, one for me and one for my brother, his lips get very dry too. I like this mint flavour, it's nice and sweet smelling. I am so silly though I should have bought the orange one as it's antibacterial which I like having for winter when I get a cold- I like using it instead but all well, next time.

4) EOS Lip Balm Smooth Sphere "Strawberry Sorbet"

I actually love these eos lip balms, I mean they're usda organic which is very important to me, they work very nicely, I actually like them more now then when I first tried them because I think to repair lips they aren't the best, they are more of a maintaining healthy lips lip balm. One of my main favourite things about these lip balms is the sphere shape I prefer it 100% to the ordinary shape, plus they are super cute!!

5) Mychelle Dermaceuticals Lip Plumping Treatment Luscious Pina Colada

I have this obsession, well in all honesty I have quite a few obsessions and one of them is big lips, I love big lips, my lips aren't small but they aren't as full as I would like them to be especially the shape of my top lip. Anyway I am very much considering in the future getting some kind of lip injections, problem is I have a HUGE fear of needles, it's expensive, you have to top it up, it's a foreign object in your body which isn't something I like the thought of and although I want big and full lips I don't want them to look fake and plastic which is a risk so anyway I decided to try this since some people in the reviews were saying that it works and it's great.

I wasn't sure if I should because it's kinda expensive and you don't get a lot of product and it has to be used 3-4 times a day. But if it works, doesn't matter to me. The only thing that I am unsure about and no one mentioned it, I don't know if it'd like a temporary lip plump like when you use a lip plumping gloss or like a treatment that will last after you have stopped using the product or will it go back to normal and you have to continue to use it to see results, because 3-4 times a day is a quite a lot if it is a constant thing you have to use, anyway I will see what happens and might do a review on it.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:  I started using this June 8th, so far no results but it does say give it 29 days. Oddly this is super drying so I NEED to use a lip balm over the top of this...hmm weird right?

These honeybee gardens eye liners have the best ingredients I have come across in any eye liner so far I just hope they work well, I also wanted to get the Belgium chocolate colour but they were out of stock.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: This is a matte black colour, soft enough but not super black but still black. On the water line it isn't super black like I had hoped but I will do a review once I have used it enough, I might be nice for lower lash line. I will still use it on my water line, since I have only used it once.

Because the Belgium chocolate wasn't available I thought this would be a good opportunity to try another brand of eye liner, ingredients are good not as good as honeybee garden's but it's all good.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: I swatched the colour a few times and this is not a basic brown like I had thought, it is a medium brown with very visible purple/red tones and a shimmer to it. Seems soft so far.

I was reading the reviews saying this colour was very light, in the pictures on the website it looked like a mid-tone brown but I guess it's not so I still got it because I thought if it's very light I can use it as a flesh coloured eye liner for my waterline as white is quite sharp at times. Any way if it's too dark for that I thought maybe I could use it as an eyebrow pencil because it is so hard for me to find the right colour for my brows, even though my hair and eyebrows are a mid toned brown, I need a pencil that would be more for a blonde haired  person since darker colours seem to be too harsh for me I think it's cause I'm like vampire white so yeah I'll see how that goes.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: A lighter brown warm colour, it's interesting cause of my skin maybe cause I'm so fair it doesn't look too pale but I am experimenting with this colour cause I think I could use it as either an eyebrow pencil, a nude water line pencil or even a lip liner, not sure...I will keep you updated.

I actually got this sharpener for the new pencils I bought, even though I love my Avon sharpener it is covered with my unnatural eye liners so that's why I got a new one. I actually should have gotten 2 since I want to buy a honeybee gardens lip liner and need a sharpener for when I get it, anyway next time.

Besides black nail polish and darker colours, I love glitter nail polish so much and was excited to find a more natural one and it's the first one I have seen so I thought I would get it.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Very smelly, super sparkly, more so in person than in pictures. Rainbow glitter with 2  different sized cut glitter. It hasn't lasted very long on me but.....I still really like it.
Click here for nail of the day with this nail polish.

I think I saw iluvjesse444 talk about this and she had such good things to say that I wanted to give it a try, not too sure what it is suppose to do as the packaging doesn't give much direction or uses. I am gonna google it, but I know it will be good for summer and under make-up. This unfortunately did leak a little.

My all time favourite natural chewing gum I can't seem to get it anymore from iherb since they no longer are allowed to ship it here, I an so heartbroken and vitacost have taken it off their website, more heartbreak so I thought I would get the Xlear chewing gum, since I have tried it and it's ok not as good as my favourite anyway then I saw that the mints had more product so I thought I would give this a go before I buy the chewing gum, I've tried this product but in the berry flavour which was kinda crap because they were 100% nothing like a mint they were more like a light sugar free lolly, but my brother LOVED them though.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: This actually is very minty to my surprise and does have a mildly "hot" kind of peppermint so I think it will be a good breath freshener. Yay!!

Note: More first impressions of some of these products might be added in the next upcoming days :)

For anyone wanting to purchase from vitacost you can use my referral code and on orders over $30 you will be receive $10 off and then so will I.

Nail of the Day (N.O.T.D) #1

So this nail polish I got from vitacost order, I might not be posting the vitacost haul though since some of the items might be a bit boring, not sure, might post a few of the items. Anyway, I am no expert when it comes to applying nail polish, at all, but I thought I would post this to show the colour of  some natural nail polishes and give an idea of what kind of natural brands are out there.

Barielle Shades Nail Polish in "Starchild"; excuse the weird claw hand shape :) It so pretty but a really simple glitter nail polish but I really like it, I think it looks a bit more glittery in person though. This is 2 coatsI then just put a natural top coat to make it last longer. You would be fine with 1 or could even go to 3 for more glitter. I was surprised how much glitter comes out, because with some glitter nail polishes the glitter it very stingy and you need 3 coats to even tell that there is glitter on your nails, but not with this polish.

I would have liked to put a nude nail colour underneath the glitter but I don't have a natural  one yet.

I think glitter is probably the most low maintenance nail polish because when it starts to chip away it doesn't look as bad as darker or full colours, which I like cause I'm a bit lazy.

May Monthly Favourites

My favourites aren't in any particular order of preference, it's just things and products and whatever else I've been enjoying for this month and I want to share it, maybe you will end up liking it too, maybe you already do or maybe you hate it.....either way I hope you enjoy the post. If you all like this monthly favourites post, I could do more and might add some more categories like food or other stuff.

Beauty

1) Aloe Vera Gel 99% Pure

I am loving using this on my hands, I have dermatitis on my hands and I would say this has been the most helpful product I have tried for my hands and it's dryness. I also put a thick cream hand moisturiser over the aloe vera and my hands have been much better!! I got this particular aloe vera from Chemist Warehouse. It does have a natural preservative that I don't like, the grapefruit one, but I didn't realise this when I bought I but I mean 99% of it is pure so that's still pretty good :)

2) Madre Labs Hands Cream with Argan Nut Oil

This is a nice thick hand cream that has no added scent, which I like, but it does have a smell (the ingredients) that isn't strong or too noticeable. I really , really like this a lot and I love using it over the top of my aloe vera gel on my hands before bed time. I like that it's thick, I find it hard to find good thick hand creams and this one is great for dry hands and doesn't have any overpowering scent added. I just wish it was a little bigger in size and the amount of product you get.

3) Trilogy Rose Hip Antioxidant Oil

I use rose hip oil all the time, but before this month I wasn't that consistent with it for a little while, but I've been using it more again and I just really like it. It adds a nice amount of moisture to my skin, I put a tiny bit underneath my eyes too. I feel like I am doing my skin a favour by using this and oils in generals, just because I feel like my skin will age better because of all the benefits rose hip oil and oils in general have. When I use this and other oils I don't have to use as much moisturiser which I like.

4) Acure Organics, Sensitive Facial Cleanser  Argan Oil & Probiotic

I only go this cleanser this month, it was in my iherb haul here.  So far I am happy with it, I think this is a better choice for my skin over the moogoo milk wash just because it is a cream cleanser and it helps with hydrating my skin more than the milk wash did. It's still a very new love so I will have to see how my skin is with it further down the track with more and more use, but so far I feel like it was a very good decision to buy and I am enjoying using it :)

Note: I had more products that were on the verge of being favourites, but being as they aren't yet I didn't put them in. So next month there will probably be more beauty favourites if monthly favourites are something you want to see on this blog :)

TV Shows

1) Elementary

This show is so witty and smart, the humour is so dry which is probably my favourite kind of humour. Johnny Lee Miller plays the Sherlock Holmes character amazingly, he is so wonderful in this as is Lucy Liu. I think every time something is being remade or revamped everyone kinda is more sceptical but I think this show has really reconstructed the whole Sherlock Holmes genre but kept the essence of Sherlock Holmes the character but flipped everything else. I just love it, I really recommend it !!!

2) The Americans

I was very curious about this show, and I was excited that it was coming to free to air t.v. This show is a little intense, it has a good story line. I love spy movies and t.v show but this seems a little more raw, a little darker, this show feels like it's very different from normal spy shows since it is focusing on Russian spies planted in America. It's just very interesting so far, I'm looking forward to see where they will go with it. I've only watched one episode but I am looking forward to watch more.

Music

1) Robin Thicke- Blurred Lines

2) McFly- Above the Noise Album (In particular Party Girl, iF U C Kate, End of the World and That's the Truth)

3) Demi Lovato ft Cher Lloyd- I Really Don't Care

4) Of Mice & Men- O.G Loko

5) Mya- Fallen, Case of the Ex, My love is like...Wo

6) Paramore- Still Into You

7) Cher Lloyd- Dub On the Track

8) The Androids- Do it with Madonna

9) My Chemical Romance- Teenagers

10) Of Mice & Men- Second & Sebring  (one of my all time favourite songs!!)

DVD's

1) Pitch Perfect
I saw this on the last day of May and I had to add it it to my favourites because it has been added to my all time favourites movie list. I loved it so much!! I laughed so much and it was just so, so, so great!!! Everyone was so funny, specifically Rebel Wilson who I love.

2) Katy Perry: Part of Me Movie
I've always really liked Katy Perry and her music, to be honest I think she is the best pop singer cause even though she rights fun catchy songs, she also writes songs with substance and that aren't as "superficial" as some songs around these days. Anyway after watching this movie I loved her even more, in the movie you get to see her as a real person and how she "made it". We are usually use to seeing celebrities in this  altered sense of reality (talk shows, red carpets, interviews etc) where they are in a setting that is much foreign and strange to us and it can feel very fake. So I liked that in the movie you saw behind that.

3) Reba season 1
I remember watching this when I would be home sick from school when I was younger but I didn't remember too much about it. I had a strong feeling that I really liked it so I got it and I loved watching it. It was so funny and actually everyone in my family loves it too.

4) Just Shoot Me season 3
I love this show so much, I laugh every time I watch it even though I do remember some of the episodes I still enjoy them as much as the first time. Very simply put, it's just a great, funny show.

5) My Wife & kids season 2
One of my many favourite tv shows growing up, I am a big fan of the whole Wayans family. I am so happy I got this on dvd I never get sick of it. You cannot watch any episode without laughing out loud, it's impossible!!

6) Seeking a Friend for the End of the Universe
This was a more unusual kind of movie, I would say it wasn't very predictable it was different and I really enjoyed it. I mean Steve Carell is just so funny and he and keira knightley were great in the movie. It's funny, it's sweet and it is definitely something  different in terms of what you see in movies.

7) Jeff, Who Lives At Home
Best way to describe this movie; a heart warming movie. This I enjoyed more than what I thought, it was a really nice movie that had a message in it and had a meaning that I appreciated. Jeff is a really wonderful character, he is sweet. Fate and a higher power are definitely apart of the movie, it's just goes in a direction different and better than where I thought it was going. Really enjoyed it.

8) Dawson's Creek Season 1
I use to watch this when it was on tv and I was alot younger, I decided to get the first season on dvd to see if I still liked it. Some things that I liked when I was younger you don't tend to like when your older, for me that is more rare but I was happy that I still really loved Dawson's creek and it was like watching it for the first time because I don't remember much of it.

Youtuber/ Youtube Videos

I will do a separate blog about all my favourite youtubers, but for now this is who I have been watching the most this month.

2) Pixiwoo

8) RhaeaEstelle

9) iluvjesse444

Note: This list isn't in any kind of preference order, just in order of who I could remember first.

Websites and/ or Blogs

1) Amazon
I love, love, love Amazon and I love tv shows and movies so much, and being in Australia we miss out on so much shows coming to dvd that it has always really annoyed me. I think we are passed the days where we need region coding, with the Internet and people getting whatever show they want from there. Region coding restricting where dvds can only be played and sold in certain countries seems redundant. I am not one of those people that downloads movies or streams movies illegally because I have too much love for the tv and film industry so that is why I buy mine from amazon. My new FAVOURITE website :)

Miscellaneous

1) Fifi & Jules Podcast

I am  loving Sophie Monk being apart of the show, even though I miss Fifi, I think Sophie was the best temporary replacement and I actually like her so much more since she has been on the radio-super funny!
